Leadership Team

Stephen is CEO of Olmstead Associates.  He also leads Olmstead's Client Engagement capability, helping investment managers with communications and information delivery solutions across their client lifecycle.  He has 25+ years as a management consultant and financial technology executive, helping global financial markets firms of all sizes define and achieve their business objectives.   Regarding our client's client experience, he drives Olmstead's services, considering all client touchpoints when devising client engagement operating models and integrated sales and service solutions. 

Stephen held senior positions at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), PwC, and Arthur Andersen, where he was the partner-in-charge of the New England financial markets business consulting practice. Prior to Olmstead, Stephen held leadership positions at trading pioneers ITG and Macgregor. He architected and ran the ITG Net business unit, the firm's end-to-end electronic trading and trade processing network, building it to a community of over 750 buy-sides, sell-sides, custodians, and industry utilities. Stephen led Macgregor's Sales and Service, and oversaw the transformation of the firm's financial profile by diversifying revenue, growing recurring revenues, and reducing costs dramatically. A recurring theme through his professional experiences is the weaving together of strategy and execution, business and technology.

A graduate of Georgetown University, in his free time you can find Stephen enjoying time with his wife and three children, around a baseball diamond or on a stand-up paddle board.  Stephen holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Neal leads Olmstead Associates Operational Agility consulting capability, focusing on helping the investment management community evolve its operations into an enabler of corporate strategy.  He has extensive experience leading operations and technology transformation initiatives having delivered numerous solutions for highly sophisticated, complex global investment managers.    

Prior joining Olmstead, Neal was a Relationship Executive for State Street's largest and most strategic clients where he was responsible for global client strategy, thought leadership and service delivery spanning all of State Street's business lines and global locations.  He also was Senior Department Head in State Street's Investor Services, supporting the U.S. Mutual Fund business for large global clients.  As COO of State Street's EMEA Investor Services, Neal was responsible for all operations across Europe, including establishment of a BPO capability in Poland and integration of State Street's acquisition of Deutsche Bank's European custody business.   

Neal holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analyst Society.


Phil is Senior Managing Director of Olmstead Associates, and responsible for Olmstead's core project consulting and professional development businesses.  Phil joined the firm soon after it was founded in 1994 and has provided strategic consulting services on projects that span the front to the back office at clients such as Federated Investors, Mass Financial Services, Putnam Investments, Omgeo, Columbia Management and the State of Georgia. Phil also leads Olmstead Associates' professional development business as well as operating as both as an instructor and class developer. These classes have been delivered both as public seminars in Boston, New York, Chicago and San Francisco and on site at clients such as State Street, DuPont Capital Management, Babson Capital Management, Bank of America, OPERS, Interactive Data and dozens of other major industry and software firms.

Prior to joining Olmstead Associates, Phil had experience in the securities industry working at Aetna Life and Casualty, Mass Mutual and as an independent consultant. Phil also worked for the White House as Manager of Information Systems for the Executive Office of the President.  Phil has a B.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Hartford.

Scott is a Managing Director, leading Olmstead's Data Management consulting capability.  He is an industry expert with more than 29 years of experience in the financial services industry.  The majority of Scott’s career has been spent helping firms overcome people, process, and IT challenges impacting the value they receive from data. He offers a unique perspective, having worked for the Buy Side as well as with its counterparties, IT/data vendors, and outsource service providers. Scott’s data expertise also spans the investment lifecycle, enabling him to quickly relate to business drivers for the front, middle, and back office. He has successfully delivered engagements, including data strategy, IT architecture, IT systems and outsource provider selections, data governance, data quality operations, reporting and regulatory reporting.  

Scott is a thought leader and has challenged the way firms think about data quality measurement, establishment of data governance, and achievement of a data culture. He has authored thought leadership pieces and presented at industry events, including FTF, FIMA, TSAM, SIFMA, ISITC, SIBOS, and he has been a long-time member of the EDM Council.

Prior to joining Olmstead Associates, Scott’s roles included serving as Data Management Practice lead at InvestTech Systems Consulting. Prior to that, he was Director, Data Management and Control at Liberty Mutual Investments and a Director in PwC’s Asset Management Practice. Scott has a B.A. in Economics and German from Lake Forest College and a Masters in Finance from Bentley’s McCallum Graduate School of Business.
Kevin is Vice President of Client and Market Development.  Within this role, Kevin is responsible for Olmstead's efforts to help our clients address the strategic and tactical challenges that face their technology and operations organizations. Kevin brings almost 20 years of financial technology experience to this role as well as proven success building and managing strategic relationships with asset managers, asset owners, asset servicing firms and the technology firms that support them. 

Kevin has held business development and client relationship positions in the industry and most recently came to Olmstead Associates from InvestTech Systems Consulting where he was responsible for defining and building their business development function.  Prior to InvestTech, Kevin worked with SS&C and StatPro supporting their software and services sales efforts and spent 5 years at TowerGroup where he worked to support the development and execution of their consulting, advisory, and training businesses.  
Kevin is a graduate of Boston College with a degree in Economics. In his free time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 sons, coaching, and staying active through sporting activities. 
is responsible for running Olmstead’s Talent function and helps manage our consultant liaison program and our broader Olmstead Network.  A Recruiting Professional with 8 years of experience in staffing and consulting across a variety of industries, Amanda has taken a more recent focus on Financial Services.   Amanda supports our clients to evaluate the nuances of their needs and works effectively with our broader network to ensure an exceptional skills, knowledge and cultural match for our clients.  She has extensive training in sourcing and connecting with talent through traditional and non-traditional methods. 
Prior to joining Olmstead Associates, Amanda worked for the largest U.S. provider of scientific and clinical staffing, where she was recognized for the relationships she formed with the consultants and her ability to best match candidates to the needs of their clients.  Amanda is a graduate of Longwood University where she was recruited to play soccer.  In her spare time you will find Amanda at a sporting event or on the waterfront.  Amanda is always looking to expand our network and grow the business, have you reached out to her today?

is responsible for introducing Olmstead's data centric consulting services to the Investment Management industry.  He has over 20 years of business development experience in the financial services industry, and he has extensive experience in new product design, product development, and database technology.

Prior to joining Olmstead Associates, Anthony spent twelve years at TABB Group bringing research and consulting services into the financial markets.  He started his career at the Chicago Board of Trade and spent 10 years in the commodities industry as an analyst, broker and trader.  Thereafter, he devoted his efforts to business development at numerous organizations, including Thomson Financial (capital markets research and investment software) and FAME (quantitative tools for the buy-side).  

Anthony has a BS from McGill University and an MS from Iowa State University in Economics.
